Hi, I 'm Marla.  I love teaching!  I have been teaching since 1972.  I began my career in the San Jose Unified School District teaching Home Economics and Typing.  I taught there for six years, then moved to Mendocino where I taught Home Economics.  After four years in Mendocino, I moved to Durham.  There I substituted in Chico, Durham, Paradise, and Hamilton City until 1990.  At that time I took a job in Biggs teaching Home Economics and English.  Finally, after earning a single subject credential in English, I now teach English full time.

Classroom Rules:

1.  Students will treat others with respect.
2.  Students will not wear hats in the classroom.
3.  Food, drinks or gum are not allowed in the classroom.
4.  Students are required to bring books, paper, pen and pencil every day.
5.  Teacher will treat all students fairly.

Grading Procedures:

Students are graded on the percentage system.  All assignments are given a point value based on 100.  To earn an A students must earn 90 - 100%.   B = 80 - 89% of the points,  C = 70 - 79%, D= 60 - 69%, F = 59% or below.
