Welcome to Biggs Unified School District
Biggs High School has had a long tradition of providing strong academic and athletic programs along with a variety of clubs and organizations for students to join. Historically, the first class in the old Biggs High School graduated in 1913. The old school was eventually replaced by the current BHS in 1962 which now houses approximately 200 students.
Academically, BHS has met the Academic Performance Index (API) targets four times over the past five years and have met their Adequate Yearly Progress targets all five years in a row. Currently, our API is 698 with a state school rank of 5 out of ten and a similar school rank of 3. Honors Courses and Advanced Placement Courses lead the pack, but BHS also provides a Butte College Connection for some students who qualify. These students attend classes at Butte College and still participate in all regular school activities.
BHS also belongs to the Mid-Valley athletic conference and has competed at a high level for many years in both girls and boys sports. Golf was added this year and is going well. Additionally, there are many clubs, organizations, committees, and student activities for all to join.
To make BHS the "BEST", we need our parent's and community's support. We are fortunate to have great support already, and we would like to encourage anyone interested to become a part of the Parent Booster Club and help our students and our school.
As the new Superintendent of Biggs Unified School District and also the BHS Principal, I am extremely pleased to be here and look forward to making Biggs the "Best School Around!!"
Biggs is a Great Place to be!!
