Meeting Notes

School Site Council Reports

BES – T= he meeting was postponed. The me= etings will be the 2^nd Thursday of the month. Jerry commented that the test scor= es and funds for last year were looked at. Bill commented that Categorical funds are going to be cut back and t= hat SSC

should review and analyze and go forward fr= om last year. Bill also mention that a Saturday School was in the p= rocess of being put into effect to make up homework for days missed.

RES – J= erry said that they went over SSC responsibility, procedures and what we can do to support students and school.

BMS – No meeting yet.=

BHS – No meeting yet.= Meeting will be Wednesday, October= 21^st.

Laura ask about the parent survey and has it been started yet. Bill stated not as yet.<= o:p>

Laura also re= minded everyone to be sure and send the minutes to Karen Nuchols.

ELAC/DELAC REPORT

No meeting but elected new member. The next meeting will be October 29^th.&n= bsp; Assessment meeting needs to be scheduled. Laura stated sample surveys need t= o be presented and gone over. Bill= went over the ELSSA report. ELSSA = is a state report. Laura discussed= more information on this. Mellisa Atteberry wanted = to know if anyone was using the Data Director.&nbs= p; Bill said yes it was being used.&nb= sp; Jerry is also using the Data Director. Laura explained the Data Director = and how it works. If the student = is enrolled n Butte County the Data Director will pull scores for that student within Butte County

DISCUSS AYP TARGETS 2009-10

Laura explain= ed the target charts handed out. Bill discussed and explained the ELA charts. This would be the charts Biggs USD= would follow. Laura explained the percentage on the charts. Lau= ra also stated we are out of Program improvement at this point. She also explained that we are at 2 years out of being a Program Improvement school again. Laura discussed CAHSEE testing for Sp. Ed students. = Bill discussed the CAHSEE testing also. Bill stated we are in Safe Harbor mode. He also discussed Transportation funds. Mellisa Atteberry asked h= appen to theses funds after being held for a year.&= nbsp; Bill stated that they go to title one funds.

REPORT ON = TITLE III PROGRAM IMPROVEMENT STATUS

EL PROFESS= IONAL DEVELOPMENT

Bill explaine= d the 2008-2009 Title lll Accountability Report handed out. Bill mention we have met= all of the AMO’s. Jerry mention about Bill being nom= inated for Administrator of the year. Laura discussed the AMO’s and levels. She also commended Ve= ra and everyone involved in getting our levels where they should be.

Vera went over process that was done to get the District levels where they should be.=

Bill asked how= we are working with our staff to reach our goals.= Pam discussed accountability to make sure procedures are being implemented. Bill discussed p= utting our Safty Plan together, facilities looking bet= ter and keeping students in school for our ADA. Bill also discussed best and appro= priate way to spend monies and that the staff is working extremely hard.

UPDATE ON CATEGORICAL BUDGET FLEXIBILITY AND PROGRAMS FOR BIGGS USD

Pam Ragan han= ded out BUSD District Budget for State Program spreadsheet and discussed. The spreadsheet wa= s on budget for State and Federal programs and where the money is going. She also mentioned an expected a mi= d year cut and that there will be an update again in January. Vera asked what an In-Direct charg= e was.

It is based o= ff of expenditures. Bill discussed spreadsheet also. Vera asked = if there was any other money we get from the State. It was stated that we receive Reve= nue dollars based on ADA. Pam Ragan explained P1 reporting attendance and how many days that actually shows up. She also explained P2 Final Numbers – If numbers go down you have to pay back. Bill stated to keep things as bala= nce as you can. It was also mention = that every level is good for P1 & P2 and that the District will not lose mon= ey now. Jerry mention about the = Swine Flu and how this could affect attendance.&= nbsp; Pam mention how only the Elementary school is entitled to Title One Funds. It was asked what ARRA was. It is one time Federal money. Pam Sheppard asked if SSC could get a list of how m= any salaries are being paid by Federal monies.= Pam Ragan said she would supply this information. Pam Ragan suggest everyone watch t= here monies. Next year will be the= worst of the three years. Bill also commented to watch how you’re spending your monies and to be frugal on spending money.

Laura handed = out revised SSC calendars and discussed.=

SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL PRIMER

Laura handed = out School Site Council Primer booklet. She explained that this is to help train your S= SC.

GLOSSARY

Laura handed = out pamphlets on Glossary and discussed. Laura also handed out and discussed “Use of Categorical Fiscal Resource Guideline” spreadsheet.&nbs= p; Bill explained Title One Funds and what is going on this year with t= he funds. C= PM changes were also discussed. = Now it is online and the State can pull up documents to see if you’re compli= ant if you are setup for this.

REVIEW/REV= ISE LEA PLAN:

Goal 1 Eng= lish Language Arts and Math

Laura handed = out and discussed paperwork. She talk= ed about areas of progress. Stan= dards and strategies were discussed. Bill also discussed information on this. Jerry stated that the program for intervention time is in place for = K-8^th. Laura went over ELA and Math areas that were discussed in DAC meeti= ng.

Goal 2 Eng= lish Language Learners

Laura handed = out spreadsheet and discussed the goal and needs for each section. Vera also discussed and went over English Learner student scores. Vera stated she went to meeting on ELD a= nd Assessments.

Goal 3 Professionals Development

Laura handed = out paperwork. Bill mention how critical staff development was. Pam wanted to know how to correct the area of focus. Laura discussed this. Laura stated we will discuss more = on Dec. 14^th.
